JOB-1529 Remote with Travel Duration: 12 months MWResource supplies our customers in the electric utility industry with the resources they need to manage some of their most complex systems. We work and partner with leaders in the industry and the skills and experiences of our resources are in high demand. MWResource has opportunities for experienced Energy Management Systems (EMS), Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), and Market Management Systems (MMS) consultants of all levels to support our clients across the US and Canada. These roles are both short and long-term contracts. Most contracts are full-time positions embedded within the customer's EMS, ADMS, or OMS team that require the consultant to be onsite at the customer location 100% for the length of the contract. Some are remote or part-time opportunities. Customers are typically large investor-owned utilities with ALSTOM/GE or OSI systems. We also support customers with ABB, ACS, Schneider, and Siemens EMS, ADMS, OMS, and market systems. We also offer OSI PI Historian support. JOB-2201 Hybrid Duration: 24 months Provides support for Market Management Systems (MMS) applications portfolio such as Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED), Day-Ahead Market (DAM), Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC), Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR), QSE Training Simulator etc. Actively involved in the design, development, testing, validation and implementation of modifications and enhancements to MMS applications. Job Duties • Member of the 24/7 Market Applications Engineering support on call team and supports, troubleshoot market applications and system on call issues. • Assists in the proactive enhancements, improvements and issue remediation. • Coordinate application set up and testing with QSEs, LSEs, REs as appropriate. • Performs MMS model load testing on periodic basis and updates the model data in real-time based on established procedures. • Design and Test MMS Interfaces and Web & Client/Server applications changes. • Verify and support MMS applications during system site failovers, server/system/database upgrades and patching • Supports the execution of Disaster Recovery Drills and business continuity procedures • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair MMS applications and interfaces, and escalate as appropriate • May provide on the job training or help oversee the work of other engineers/analysts • Act as a consultant, representative and subject matter expert in project and activities that affect the MMS environments and applications as appropriate • Represents the Market Applications Engineering Team at interdepartmental and Stakeholder meetings • Works with database administrators and infrastructure teams on complex MMS application issues triggered from server/network/storage/database components • Tests Non-Functional requirements of MMS application changes and coordinates with database/infrastructure teams to perform the tests • Fosters and leverages strong working relationships with other internal departments • Lends professional expertise to guide projects and help teammates assigned by manager • Demonstrates skills as an expert user of power system software applications and tools, spreadsheet programs, and database programs • Maintains knowledge of emerging trends and industry best practices Requirements • Bachelor's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field (Required) • Master's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field (Preferred) • or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required • Requires minimum 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements Preferred Work Experience • Experience with Hitachi ABB or any MMS vendors suite of applications • Experience with Data Historians such as OSIsoft PI • Experience with programming languages such as FORTRAN, C, C++, Java & Perl. • Experience with PL/SQL The base pay range for this role is $60 - $90 per Hour. MES/MOM as we see it What do we expect from our new colleague: Execute AVEVA PI (formerly OSIsoft PI) Operational intelligence projects worldwide. Detect, reason and solve Operational informational issues of customers. Execute projects where interfacing with other MES/MOM technologies is required. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports to hand over the projects. Willing to travel. Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or ICT, or you have acquired the equivalent level of knowledge through experience. Good communication skills to understand customer needs. You have a customer-focus view. A team-player who is stress-resistant and flexible. Good command of English (knowledge of French or another European language is a plus). Experience in MOM/MES applications or AVEVA PI is not required but a plus. Knowledge in development technologies is not required but is a plus. Understanding automation systems (DCS, PLC’s SCADA and Batch Execution systems) is not required but a plus. In possession of a valid driver’s license. You are a European citizen or have a valid long-term European work and stay permit.
